Poker players should also most of the time trust their instincts. The gut most often than not is right.

When you step onto the final table you can tell the other players’ mindsets. Some will have the will to win while the others forego of their opportunity to be the best.

Many professional players have candidly confessed that alcohol and poker do not go hand in hand. Alcohol has a detrimental effect on the game. You need a clear head to make pertinent judgments which would have deep impact on the game and the poker table. When you are playing poker, you are going to make mistakes … everyone does, no matter if you are a master at the game or you are just starting out.  It is all part of the process and it is definitely something that you will learn all about.  However, you need to make sure that you know the differences between big mistakes and small mistakes, there is a huge difference, remember that.

Keeping an eye on misrepresented draws is especially important. It is quite common to draw just a single card while actually holding trips. This may be indicative of two low or small pairs, or it can indicate an opponents’ draw. Keep an eye out for players who stand pat as well.
